This is a prospective clinical trial designed to provide testing and treatment for women during a 6-month period, followed by 12 months of monitoring for women treated. The aim of this study is to test safety, acceptability and feasibility of a Single Visit Approach to cervical cancer prevention in Malawi. This project will be conducted at Queen Elizabeth hospital. The intervention will consist of enrolling and providing VIA testing to approximately 500 women within 25–45 years of age; formal training of service providers which will be followed by a one-month pilot phase during which the nurses and other medical personal will be intensively supervised by local physician supervisors, all with prior experience in colposcopy.
