Gender Equality and Reproductive Health Improvement Initiative (GERHI)

This set of activities is funded by UNICEF Malawi. It builds on the ‘Global Early Adolescent Study’ pilot phase work undertaken in Blantyre primary schools, focusing on the health and wellbeing of 10-14 year old adolescents. The current project will develop tools and materials for a new intervention directed towards gender socialisation and formation of healthy relationships. Our international partners are Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore and Promundo, an international NGO that promotes gender equity. Lead investigator: Prof William Stones
